'new protestors' - worker alliance?

Liverpool Dockers, on strike since late September 1995, have approached Reclaim the Streets, Freedom Network and Advance party for solidarity actions this September. While negotiations between the two groups were problematical, actions have been agreed linking the militant remnants of the trade union movement and the radical counter culture

A national weekend of action has been called for 28/9 - 30/9 in Liverpool, including a national anti CJA demo and an illegal mass picket - rave.

While the political articulation of 'proletarian solidarity' from the traditional 'counter culture' groups is well ... a bit wierd ... it has to be seen in the reclaiming of Mayday 1994 by the first mass anti Criminal Justice Bill demo ... and the solidarity critical mass in support of the tube drivers this summer.

This demo, and possible actions afterwards against the New Labour Congress in neighbouring Blackpool have potentially national significance.

Accomodation in Liverpool is being arranged.

This could be a weekend not to be missed!
